got mail!!!!
I get up in the AM
and pull myself
together.
Have a cup of coffee
and check up on
the weather.
Turn my lap-top
on
and get myself on
line,
To see if I have
E-mail,
It's getting close
to nine.
I've got to get to
work.
Already I'll be
late.
I have no time for
breakfast
or on line friends
debate.
I haven't time to
read,
when finally I'm
connected.
I'm really running
late ,
but just as I expected,
"You've Got Mail"
At night I hurry
home.
I have to read my
mail.
I'm sure I have
a love note
from Susy, Rose
or Gail,
But don't know what
I'll do
if I have to write
all three.
Cause tonight I'm
in a hurry
to have dinner with
Marie.
These cyber dates
are really getting
out of hand.
I haven't time for
anything.
I'll have to take
a stand.
I'll have to change
my screen name,
start my cyber life
anew,
No more on line
sweeties.
That's just what
I will do.
I'll have more time
for games like
FREE CELL, HEARTS,
and SLINGO,
Lots more time to
browse the NET
and maybe play some
BINGO.
There is a little
something lost,
when my lap-top
is turned on.
As I proceed to
go on line,
that welcome voice
is gone.
